Death and Dying

The Compassion in Action group at Hospice of Mother Tara offers activities and resources related to caring for the dying, dealing with grief and helping those who have recently passed beyond this realm.

If  a beloved friend or relative, or  pet, has recently died their name can be placed on our dedication list. They will included in our prayers for the 49 days until they take rebirth.  Please call the centre or email welcome@hmt.org.au to place someone on the list.

FPMT also has a dedication list that can be accessed at fpmt.org/pfd/prayers

If you are interested in having a Buddhist service or memorial for yourself or a loved one at some future time please contact us and we can register your name at HMT.

Support is also available for those who are Buddhist and would like prayers, mantra and blessings at the time of dying.

In the near future we will be developing a series of informal chats about topics related to death and dying, and news will be posted on this website in the near future.

Some written materials on dealing with grief, organising a funeral, and the stages of dying are available at the centre.
